Its intentions are to encourage and promote God given creative skills from traditional artist and promote its unique last remaining traditional cultural practices to the world who have lost such skills.

Seeing a high demand for these primitive arts, the owner has invested K5, 000.00 of his personal savings into this venture. This plan details its business plan and outlines its major expenditures and revenue. The proposed plan specifies its operational plans, strategies and identified priorities to help it achieve its long term goals. This business venture specializes in rare and unique traditional arts creatively weaved, carved and thatched by past Papua New Guineans and passed down over many generations. The business is a sole proprietor operated by all family members from the start to save costs. Neither loan nor additional cost will be sought and or invested into the initial starting amount. Although it took some difficulties in starting this business because of lack of expertise in this area and a lot of risks are involve, seeing the demand has driven the owners to take some risks because all businesses involves risks taking. The Business is family based. Its trade name is known as APNG Traditional Arts and Craft Buyers and Exporters Pty Ltd. The official logo for this business has not been designed. Its specialization is purchasing and export of rare PNG artifacts, Baskets, musical instruments, ornamental and decorational items useful for cultural and traditional dances and purposes.
The main suppliers will be the two Sepik Provinces because of its renowned carvings, baskets and string bags made from special tree fibers. The underlying business intention is to find markets for PNG Traditional artist and craftsman/women. It would be through such exposure demand will be sought and market value and traditional items of value and skills involved will be promoted and enhanced.

These items will be photographed using digital cameras and download into the computer to be advertised in the internet using popular sites like; E-Bay, Yahoo, and other frequently surfed sites. The focus group to be prompted will be mainly its traditional and naturally gifted arts who have the ability no produce and market many of their products domestically and also abroad. Secondly business intentions are to target tourisms and overseas interests using mas media (internet) to expose and encourage interests from those that are not really sure of what are being at the village level.

Thirdly through such buying and selling of our products, traditional skills and values will be enhanced and encouraged and promote interests from younger generations so that these god given skills and natural abilities maintained and are not really forgotten. Although arts and Crafts have been exi quantity sting in PNG, I am not really sure of such business activities currently existing in the country if there are any. Being a Sepik myself, identifying unique rare artifacts, arts and crafts products would not be a problem because of my local knowledge and expertise. As is evidence there are many of these products are locally made and domestically marketed locally and domestically in almost all the main centers throughout PNG. For example in Port Moresby there are a number of craft markets within the vicinity of the city with a lot of items sold at an affordable local price. These items are also sold in Lae, Madang, Rabaul and other major centers throughout PNG including its base in Wewak (East Sepik Province).

Some degree of specialization is possessed by my business parts. For example my wife is an expert in purchasing quality string bags. She is very selective and critical identifying quality bilums form amongst Sepik and Highland’s types. She can also negotiate and purchase items at reasonable prices. Her expertise also extends to traditional Sepik bilums making out from special tree fibers which are of high demand in PNG. My elder daughter on the other hand is a graduate of Business School from the University of PNG. She possesses so specialization in computing. She also has the abilities to negotiate and plan business activities. Such skills are a asset to this business. With such expertise and experience, the owners are able to buy and export high quality products.

With collective skills the business owners are able to identify quality marketable items to purchase and export them based on demand. The basic items of trade will include; carvings, bilums (traditional as well as those made from wool), singsing and decorational items such as; head masks, dogteeth, pigs tusks, roped shells, penis gorge, cassowary feathers, birds feathers etc) musical instruments (kundu, conshells, bamboo flutes, shells and instruments made from tree seeds) made from locally and naturally grown vegetations.
