Partners with Melanesians Inc is a Papua New Guinean organisation established in 1984 at the University of Papua New Guinea and registered as a non-profit association (Reg No. 5-896) by staff and students of the Language and Literature Department. Partners began with a primary interest in the Managalas Plateau following up on the previous work of one of its founders.

Initially, it was set up to support groups and communities who were involved in education and development initiatives in rural communities of Papua New Guinea . As time progressed, PWM started work on the Managalas Plateau of the Oro Province in what has come to be one of the best models of community mobilising and community development work around conservation in the country.

The Managalas Plateau remains a primary focus of Partners and almost all funds raised are dedicated either to the Plateau or to administrative support to maintain activities on the Plateau. Partners is now considering expanding this focus to include other geographical areas in PNG.
